Confession: I've never actually decorated for NYE before. There are only 6 days between Christmas and New Year's Eve, which is not much time to prepare if you're planning to host a party or even if you just want to get a little festive before you head out to watch the ball drop! So, this year when I decided to style up my bar cart, I went looking for some cute NYE decor and was shocked to find that none of the stores I checked had any! It was a week before Christmas and I had only one free day to make this shoot happen, since my husband and I are heading back up to MI to see my family for Christmas. I decided to get creative and see if I could use only items that I already owned to style this cart, and I must say, I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out! I do plan on recreating this setup for NYE when we get back, so I'm sort of killing two birds with one stone, as well. 

Here's what I did:

I cleared my Christmas decor off the bar cart leaving only the gold framed sea fan art and the gold coral with pine trimmings in it on the bottom tier. 

Because I don't own an actual bottle chiller, or a wine bottle coaster, I used this marble cheese board as a coaster for my DIY bottle chiller. I found this glass bowl at IKEA recently and decided it would be perfect for putting the champagne on ice.

I happened to receive these super festive confetti champagne flutes and wine glasses as an early Christmas gift, and they work so perfectly for the holidays! 

The flutes have matching stemless wineglasses and they found a home nestled onto the bottom tier of the cart next to a gold shaker and my gold coral with pine trimmings tucked into it.

The sparkly ornaments set in the champagne chiller came from the live pine centerpiece I made a few weeks ago. I replaced it with a bouquet of white flowers, so the ornaments were no longer in use. 

The gold glitter platform underneath the champagne flutes is actually the lid to a glittery box. I simply flipped it over to give some height to the glasses and a little more sparkle. On NYE, you can never have too much sparkle! ;)

Battery-operated light strings have become my new best friend! They are so versatile and make any space feel cozy and festive. I'm pretty sure these will be sticking around when I pack up the rest of the holiday decor in January. I hid the battery enclosures behind the art and strung them from the edges of the bar cart. I love the twinkling reflections!

Some daintier wire "fairy lights" are so easy to wrap around the bottles and even drape over the ice bucket. The wire is bendable and allows for the lights to stay in place, once you've positioned them. 

I found my shiniest bottle toppers and the pack of cocktail napkins I bought last week that just so happened to match the confetti glasses perfectly, and displayed them on the cart. Once the champagne is popped, the toppers will look great in place of the cork. 

This mirrored star adds a little bit of interest to the cart. It's always fun to find other things around the house that will create a new vignette. 

I used this faux fur bottle wrap in my Christmas Home Tour and it definitely still fits in with this NYE theme.
